Auto generate a new URL slug in WordPress
WordPress is a wonderful and practical tool. And it has some very smart features, such as automatically creating the search engine-friendly URLs during the design phase of an article. Once an article is live, the URL path no longer changes when the header changes. This is a clever feature, but sometimes you’d like the URL to change as well. For very long headings, it is sometimes annoying if you have to enter the URL manually. Therefore, there is a small but time-saving trick.
How to auto generate a new slug for a new headline?
Well, that’s quite easy. Simply write your new headline, click on the Edit button and remove all text from the field. Click on OK and see that WordPress generates a fresh URL slug for your article. Isn’t it easy?
Of course you can customize these URLs arbitrarily.
